BENJAMIN NUGENT has written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, Time, and n 1. His fiction has appeared in Tin House. American Nerd: The Story of My People, published by Scribner in 2008, is a combination of journalism and memoir. He grew up in Amherst, Massachusetts. He holds an MFA in fiction from the Iowa Writers' Workshop, where he was an Iowa Arts fellow. His first novel, Good Kids, will be published by Scribner in 2013. Director of Creative Writing at Southern New Hampshire University, he teaches fiction and nonfiction in its MFA and undergraduate programs.
