BENJAMIN NUGENT has written for The New York Times Magazine, GQ, Time, New York, and other publications. His fiction has appeared in Tin House. American Nerd: The Story of My People, which came out in paperback in May, is a combination of journalism and memoir. He grew up in Amherst, Massachusetts. He's an MFA candidate in fiction at the Iowa Writers' Workshop, and the recipient of an Iowa Arts Fellowship. He lives in Iowa City.
